Purfling!

Inlaying the purfling is a very detailed and tedious task.  The delicate pieces need to be set in and removed several times during the process, so I use small pieces of unwaxed dental floss in the groove so each strip is easy to remove without damage as I make microscopic refinements to the shape and fit.  I also compress the purfling with a manual pasta roller so that it fits easily into the groove and then when I glue it, the moisture from the glue swells it back to the proper thickness.
